Programming Note: Changing Of The Guard

2010_10_01_changing.jpg As Tankboy noted earlier, today is my last full day as editor of this here website. I'm moving on down the information super highway to another pretty awesome spot next week which means it's time for me to bid you all adieu. It's been a fun two years filled with plenty of fun and surreal moments: Obama, Blago, the Olympic bid, and Mayor Daley's retirement just to name a few. But unlike the transfer of power that's going to shake-up City Hall next spring, we're getting ready for a change-over at the top here that will be far less disruptive to your reading.

As I move on, our own Food & Drink editor Chuck Sudo will step up and fill the role of grand chieftan of this web-blog. While you may notice a few differences - for instance, references to unicorns and half-assed Harry Potter references will likely drop by about 70 percent - Chuck, along with the omnipotent Tankboy, Prescott, and our wonderful, amazing staff here a the site will make sure to not miss a beat, story, or chance to post something silly the mayor said. Chuck and Tankboy have been with the site for years and years and they'll certainly continue directing it to new heights.

Thanks again for a wild two year ride, for reading, for commenting, and for helping make us one of the biggest - and the best! - blogs in Chicago.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to turn in my gun and badge to Dobkin.
