The CTA has announced that there could be "minor" delays this week on the Blue, Brown, and Red Lines due to maintenance and repair work. As a result, the CTA is advising that riders allow for extra travel time when using any of the aforementioned train lines.

Although this isn't terribly exciting news for commuters and tourists alike, it is kind of difficult to figure out what exactly is going on around the Blue Line:

Blue Line trains in both direction will operate on the same track between the Western (Forest Park branch) and UIC-Halsted station from 10 p.m. Sunday until 4 a.m. Monday while crews perform track maintenance, the CTA said. The work will continue at the same time Monday night into Tuesday morning. As a result, passengers must board and exit all trains on the Forest Park-bound side of the platform at the Illinois Medical District and Ranice stations late Sunday and early Monday and on the O'Hare-bound side of the platform at the same stations the following days. Additionally, Blue Line trains will operate on the same track between the Kedzie-Homan and Austin stations from 10 p.m. Tuesday until 4 a.m. Wednesday during track maintenance, the CTA said. The work will continue at the same times the next two nights, ending early Friday. Passengers at the Pulaski and Cicero stations must board and exit all trains on the O'Hare-bound side of the platform during the construction.
