Huberman to Step Down as CPS CEO... Eventually

After viewing the above video and reading today's Sun-Times cover story about Ron Huberman's expected exit as CEO of the Chicago Public Schools, the question now isn't will Huberman leave, but when?
Fran Spielman and Rosalind Rossi wrote in the Sun-Times piece that Huberman was expected to resign long before Mayor Daley ended his reign in May 2011, putting a beleaguered school system in further flux during a time when the next school year's budget is being prepared, testing schedules are organized and tough decisions are made regarding which underperforming schools to close. Huberman, long one of Daley's most trusted aides, also would have to deal with an energetic and fiery Teachers Union President in Karen Lewis, who has been very critical of some of the decisions coming out of Pershing Road these days and is fresh off a recent court ruling in the union's favor that could restore the jobs of fired tenured teachers.
Huberman went into damage control mode this morning, saying in the video that he would be around for the budget process. As Daley's most trusted troubleshooter and with handfuls of lucrative public sector jobs available for him to choose from, it sounds as though Huberman doesn't want to stay around long after the new mayor is elected.
