Cutler Cleared
A relief to everyone (especially Todd Collins), Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has been cleared to resume full activity following a concussion suffered against the New York Giants in week 4. Barring any setbacks, Cutler will be under center when the Bears take the field against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. Hanie has jumped ahead of Collins on the depth chart... although many think Collins should be dropped from it altogether.

Bulls Not Investigating Boozer's Injury
Contradicting published reports that the Bulls were investigating the true nature of Carlos Boozer's recent injury, team management said on Tuesday that no such probe is taking place. Boozer broke his hand last week, claiming to have tripped over a bag in his home. But many questioned whether the injury was suffered in some other manner given that the type of break suffered is often referred to as a "boxer's fracture" and given Boozer's recent divorce. Nonetheless, the Bulls are taking their high priced free agent at his word. He's expected to miss anywhere from six to ten weeks healing, which means the team will be without the star power forward for the first month of the season.

Hjalmarsson Hit With Two Game Suspension
Blackhawks defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson has been hit with a two game suspension following a hit from behind on Buffalo Sabres winger Jason Pominville during Monday night's game. Pominville suffered a concussion and had to be taken off the ice on a stretcher. Buffalo is denying rumors they plan to suit up Todd Collins until Pominville is cleared to return to the ice.
