Predators 3, Blackhawks 2: "Slow out of the gate" would be an apt description of how the Blackhawks are playing as Nashville scored two goals in the third period, including the game winner by Joel Ward on a power play with 26.7 seconds left as visiting Nashville kept the Hawks winless on home ice.

The power play was set up by a delay of game penalty called on Nick Boynton, who sent the puck flying into the stands late in the game. Four games into the season, the Blackhawks are finding they have very little margin for error to win games.
