Today in Rahmageddon: Taking A Dig At Daley, Budget

Per Greg Hinz at Crain's, Rahm Emanuel seems determined to maintain his "Rahmformer" guise for the time being. After Mayor Daley released the proposed 2K11 city budget that accentuated none of the positives, Emanuel released a statement critical of it. While being short on specifics himself as to how he would approach the budget mess, Emanuel said, "We can no longer deny that we are living beyond our means. We must go beyond the temporary fixes to confront our structural deficit in a permanent way."

Hinz wrote that Daley "didn't look very happy" when he showed His Elective Majesty the statement (a likely candidate for Understatement of the Year). "I'm not going to comment on that," Daley said.
