Ode to Chicago Style Hot Dogs by Starshaped Press

By Anthony Todd in Arts & Entertainment on Oct 19, 2010 5:20PM

Starshaped Hot Dog.jpg We've ooh-ed and ah-ed over Starshaped Press before. Their incredible letterpress creations have us inventing reasons why we need cards and invitations. If we could, we'd get married 5 or 6 times, just for the stationary. A series of their posters (none food-related) hangs in the Chicagoist test kitchen!

All of this is to say - we were really happy to see this poster. In the style of a 19th century advert, it says: "The City of Big Hot Dogs." It goes on to make a Daniel Burnham reference - "Make No Small Hot Dogs" - and an 1893 World's Fair reference, so of course we're biased in favor.

The poster is available on Etsy, but there are only a couple left. For the rest of us, just look at the picture and dream, or beg Jen to print some more!
