2010_jpg The third and final film based on Steig Larsons' best-selling "Millennium" triology is premiering this weekend, and we're giving away three pairs of tickets and one copy of the book to some lucky Chicagoist readers. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is already out on DVD and The Girl Who Played with Fire is being released on DVD tomorrow.

The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest opens with Lisbeth Salander, played by Swedish actress Noomi Rapace, being rushed into surgery to remove bullets from her hip, shoulder and brain. She's being tried for three murders, and with the help of Mikael Blomkvist (played by Michael Nyqvist) and his researchers at Millennium magazine, must try to prove her innocence. She is fighting against the government for its role in the whole mess.

The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest is opening Friday at several theaters across the city. We're giving away three pairs of passes, valid for any Monday through Thursday screening at Landmark's Century Centre Cinema at 2828 N. Clark St. We also have on hardback copy of the book to give away. The contest closes this Friday, October 29.

Music Box Films is also running a Lisbeth Salander Look-Alike Contest on flickr through November 5. The winner gets a private screening of The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest for 20 friends at a local movie theater.
