Halloween Food Roundup Part 1 - More Than Just Bobbing for Apples

HalloweenRoundup1.jpg Our inbox has been flooded with Halloween events, dinners, experiences and special cocktails. If you're looking to spook up your dining this weekend, check out some of these events.

At Fizz Bar and Grill, celebrate all weekend! On Friday evening, there will be some great drink specials and a costume contest, and three winners will take home $100 in cash and prices. On Saturday, Fizz will host the "Vampire Ball." A $30 drink package will include 3 hours of cocktails, beers and wines, and there will be a second costume contest, a DJ spinning "vampire vibes" and party games. 3220 N. Lincoln.

If you're a True Blood fan, Kit Kat Lounge will be hosting some themed Halloween parties on Saturday and Sunday. The staff will be dressed in "vampire-related attire," and a costume contest will be held at midnight on both nights, with a grand prize of $500. A special "True Bloody Martini" will be served all weekend long - cucumber vodka, clamato juice and special spices, garnished with vampire teeth, for $5. You can also try their Pumpkin Pie and Creature from the Black Lagoon Martinis. On Sunday at 11, Diva Madame X will be hosting a Rocky Horror Picture Show Brunch. 3700 N. Halsted.

On Saturday, Nacional 27 will be showcasing salsa dancing and custom cocktails. From 11-3, a DJ will spin salsa beats and special cocktails will be served. In our choice for the best prize of the holiday, the first prize in their costume contest is a cocktail party for 27 people, presumably featuring their amazing drinks. 325 W. Huron.

Also on Saturday, The Red Canary will feature celebrities of the past. Their staff, dressed as Hollywood stars of the 20s, 30s and 40s will serve up dinner and special cocktails, including the Helter Skelter martini - black cherry vodka, blue curacao and creme de casis. The costume contest is at 1 AM, and the first prize is $1000 in cash. 695 N. Milwaukee.
