Big Star is getting close to its first anniversary and they're ringing it in with beer, tacos, and music. Pretty much like any night there.

The beer is yet another of Goose Island Clybourn pub brewer Jared Rouben's collaborations called "Deguello." This American Pale Ale is named after ZZ Top's sixth ass-kicking record that had gems like "I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide," "A Fool For Your Stockings," "Cheap Sunglasses" and "She Loves My Automobile," this is one of the standard bearers in the Little Band from Texas's canon.

The music will be handled courtesy of a live set by Mekon Prime and man about town Jon Langford, whose knowledge of country, blues and Americana probably rivals T-Bone Burnett's at this point. The festivities get started at 7 p.m., November 8.
