There are so many Halloween events going on that we couldn’t fit them all in one post! Here are some more exciting events, including food, drink and pumpkin carving.

At Opera, the theme is “Opera Asylum” on Saturday night. The Costume contest begins at 7:30, with a grand prize of $200 in gift certificates to the restaurant. We might stop in just for the special deal - an appetizer and 2 martinis for 18 dollars, all night. 1301 S. Wabash.

Are you trying to avoid sugar this Halloween? Maybe you’re not interested in being frightened? Check out Kendell College on Sunday - they will be hosting a healthy holiday cooking class, teaching participants how to replace refined sugar with healthy alternatives. The class Is meant for a parent and child between 6 and 13, and will cover knife safety and cleanup. Each child will get a free lunchbox. The class runs from 12:30-3:00 and costs $55. 900 N. Branch Street.

On a more upscale note, Rebar at the Trump International will be offering up special Halloween-themed cocktail and sushi offerings all of this week. Putting in a bid for our favorite cocktail name of the season, the Dra-Kahlua combines Kahlua, cognac, triple sec, lemon juice and simple syrup. There will be a special Tempura Halloween with beets, sweet potato, shrimp and teriaki dressing. 401 N. Wabash.
