10With Podcast: Rally to Restore Sanity - Chicago (Pt 2)

By Karl Klockars in Arts & Entertainment on Oct 28, 2010 3:00PM

Yesterday we started the discussion with Angie McMahon about what it's taking to put together the Chicago satellite location of the Rally To Restore Sanity, and based on what we've seen from Facebook updates, Twitter feeds and Gchat statuses, there's gonna be a whole mess of y'all down at Grant Park this Saturday morning.

Today we pick up where we left off. What kind of learning curve is there when trying to work with the city on a last-second social gathering like this? From the thousands of Facebook fans on the rally page, how many of those do the Chicago Park District expect to show up? And, perhaps most importantly, how can you throw a few bucks at the cause? As soon as they meet their fundraising goals, all money collected beyond that goes to Chicago schools.

Yesterday saw the start of our conversation, and then pieces from the Sun-Times and the Tribune followed, and then the White House called Angie. We're not saying we're responsible for these things, but...no, really we have nothing to do with it.
