Last Minute Plans: JC Brooks & The Uptown Sound Record Release

While we've been digging the amazing cover done by JC Brooks & The Uptown Sound, the souped-up soul version of WIlco's "I Am Trying to Break Your Heart", we're even more excited by the fresh material the Chicago soul group has coming down the pike.

Next month, JC Brooks & The Uptown Sound will be officially releasing their newest 7" single, "To Love Someone (That Don't Love You)," a sample from what Brooks says is a forthcoming LP, on Chicago-based Addenda Records. The band kicked off their month-long "To Love Someone Tour" last night in DeKalb, and will be playing their Chicago show tonight at the Hideout. For those unable to wait until the official November 16th release date, advance copies of the single will be available to buy at tonight's release.

Joining the band will be Hideout/Chicago soul scene regulars, Soul Summit, the East of Edens Soul Express DJs and DJs from Addenda.
