Klara is a gorgeous one year old kitty who just can\'t seem to pose for the camera. You really have to meet her to see how gorgeous she is. She is a delightful cat: curious, playful, calm, contented and a constant companion. If you are looking for a friend for life, Klara is your girl.
In spite of her lack of photogenic quality, Penny is both a lovely cat and very friendly, just not for the camera.
Rocky is just a wonderful dog. Sadly, he was turned in to ACC with another dog when his owner could no longer care for them. He is a very handsome eight year old german shep/golden retriever mix, and with a little grooming his beautiful silky coat would once again shine and shine. He is wishing and hoping for a home of his own again, someone to love, and maybe even another dog to play with like before

Zelda is stunning yet loving, and her coat is like that of an expensive stuffed animal - soft and plush. Her calm, steady gaze immediately puts people at ease. She is the kind of kittyl you want hanging around your home. She lifts your spirits and her quiet, tender ways give you a boost of confidence as you face the world!

A striking yet subtle cat, Polly knows how to pose for the camera.
The pets post was bumped to Thursday this week thanks to the election (and maybe because Bill Brady hates puppies, as well). But that doesn't mean we've forgotten about our furry friends on the South side! This week we've got some great pets for you, including Rocky, Zelda, Huggy, Penny and Polly. And don't forget, if you don't see a pet you love here, there are still lots of dogs and cats at Chicago's Animal Care and Control that still haven't been adopted - you can check them all out here. If you got space in your home and room in your heart, won't you consider adopting one of these wonderful pets from Chicago's Animal Care and Control?
As always, the adoption fee is $65.00 which includes spay/neuter, vaccines, a microchip and a city license, and all cats are screened for FIV. If you have room in your heart and your home for these pets, Chicago Animal Care & Control, at 2741 S. Western Ave in Chicago, is open for adoptions Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. You can visit in person, are call or email Patty Cerny, adoption volunteer, at (773) 230-2542 or email at graz97[at]aol[dot]com.
If you want to keep up with goings on at ACC, become a fan of Cherie Travis, Chicago Commissioner of Animal Care and Control on Facebook.
And remember: plenty of the previous animals we've featured are also still available for adoption.
