'85 Bears to Relive Glory Days

By Benjy Lipsman in News on Nov 5, 2010 4:20PM

If ever there was a sports team that's milked a title, it's the 1985 Bears. Twenty-five years later, Da Bears team of the Punky QB, Sweetness, Mongo, Samurai Mike and the Fridge are still standing upon a pedestal like no other champs. Hell... their coach, Mike Ditka, is practically a saint in this town. So it should come as no surprise, as the silver anniversary of their Super Bowl XX title approaches, that the players from that team are holding an event to commemorate their feat.

Tonight, the Arie Crown Theater hosts AllState Glory Days, which bills itself as a "one-time exclusive reunion of players and fans for a night of laughter and storytelling." Among those from Da Bears who'll be appearing are Ditka himself, along with Jim McMahon, Willie Gault, Dan Hampton, Steve McMichael and many more. Tickets to the event are still available, starting at $49. No word on if there's a rib and polish sausage after party.
