A typical Tree House adoptee, Olive (black/white) is smart enough to open cupboards, yet compassionate enough to hang out with Anti-Cruelty Society riff-raff like Gus (orange).
This Thursday a couple of our favorite Chicago organizations are teaming up for a fundraiser at Cole's in Logan Square. The money is being raised for the Tree House Humane Society, a cageless, no-kill cat shelter with branches in Uptown and Bucktown that provides a number of services, such as adoption, education, and low-cost spaying and neutering, as well as trap-neuter-release programs and pet food assistance for low-income families.

The entertainment will be provided by Classical Revolution, an anti-elitist chamber music group that performs classical music in refreshingly unstuffy environments. Thursday night's program will be a varied mix of old (Mozart, Beethoven, and Haydn) and relatively new (nuevo tango master Astor Piazzolla and contemporary composer Eric Ewazen). As always, Classical Revolution's show will end with an open invitation for musicians of all skill levels and instruments to come on stage for a jam session, so if you play, bring your instrument in addition to a $5 donation or some extra dog or cat food for Tree House's Pet Food Pantry.

Thursday, November 11, at 8:00 p.m., Cole's, 2338 N Milwaukee, $5 suggested donation, 21+
