2010_4_14outdoor.jpg If the Chicago Park District can find underwriting, we could see a revival of the Outdoor Movie Festival in Grant Park next summer. That's what Parks Department Superintendent Tim Mitchell said today during a discussion over the Park District's proposed budget for next year.

Mitchell said that he's actively seeking underwriting for the festival, which was a casualty of budget cuts from the Mayor's Office of Special Events. Although movies were screened in different parks throughout the city all summer, Mitchell said that it was important to bring back the Grant Park film series, even if it loses money, because it benefits the community.

"We’re going to try to get some sort of corporate sponsorship to take that on," Mitchell said.
