With the city's food media and assorted foochebaggery on pins and needles for next week's release of the Chicago Michelin Guide, the Tribune's "Chicago Live" series at the Chicago Theatre, produced in conjunction with the Second City, will focus on all things food in next week's installment.
Tribune "Cheap Eater" columnist Kevin Pang will moderate a panel discussion with Michelin Guide General Director Jean-Luc Naret, Paul Kahan, Stephanie Izard and Graham Elliot Bowles (the Chicago Michelin Guide will also be available for purchase during the complimentary afterparty); Bill Daley will moderate "The Great Chicago Hot Dog Debate" between Doug Sohn and T.A.G. Restaurants' George and Manolis Alpogianis (America's Dog); Tribune columnist Rick Kogan speaks with Quentin Love of I Love Food Group on the importance of providing healthier food options in low income neighborhoods and his attempts at doing that; and Bridget Albert of Southern Wine and Spirits speaks with Lauren Viera about using market fresh ingredients in cocktails. Albert will also host a mix-off during the afterparty.
The cost for attending is $25 and you can buy tickets at the Chicago Live website.
