"One for the Road:" Rufus

It has been depressingly gray outside most of the day and we didn't know whether to pick something upbeat to get us out of the doldrums or to give in and find something from the Handsome Family.

You don't know how close we came to choosing the latter.

Anyway, Rufus wound up being one of those bands that started out an actual group effort, but eventually took a backseat to the force of nature that was a young Chaka Khan, who was only 18 when she joined the group in 1972. She's kept the same hairstyle for most of that time, as well as her pipes.
