Latest Poll Shows Emanuel Ahead... And BIG

A survey conducted by the Chicago office of the Illinois Retail Merchants Association shows Rahm Emanuel holds a commanding lead over the rest of the field. Of the 2,255 likely voters surveyed, 39 percent chose Emanuel over Carol Moseley Braun at 12.33 percent.
In related news, Emanuel is skipping a December 15 candidate forum on educational policy sponsored by the Illinois Policy Forum and Northside Democracy for America, citing a prior commitment. If future polls return favorably for Emanuel, Crain's Greg Hinz noted (and we would tend to agree) that Emanuel may pull a Daley and not even bother to attend later debates.
