Monday Morning Diversion: Remembering Leslie Nielsen (Part 1)

By Chuck Sudo in Arts & Entertainment on Nov 29, 2010 4:20PM

"Naked Gun" star Leslie Nielsen passed away yesterday at the age of 84. Although he was best known for his comedic roles in the "Naked Gun" movies, "Airplane," and other films, when Mr. Nielsen came to Hollywood, he was often cast as a handsome leading man. Roger Ebert, who's more eloquent than anyone in conveying a sense of loss than we could ever hope to, compiled a series of videos of Nielsen as a tribute.

We thought of running a clip of Mr. Nielsen from the sci-fi classic Forbidden Planet, but opted instead to go with Mr. Nielsen's screen test for Ben-Hur with Cesare Danova. it seems more like a screen test for Danova, but even off screen, Mr. Nielsen shines..
