Daley Opens Aldermanic Casting Call

2010_11_30_help_wanted.jpg Mayor Daley has three vacancies to fill in City Council once again. For the second time in nine months, he's taking applications. With Toni Preckwinkle moving on to the County Board presidency, Ed Smith retiring and Tom Allen being appointed to a Circuit Court judgeship, Daley's looking for go-getters to serve as aldermen until the new City Council is sworn in next May.

But before you set to embellishing your resume and taking it to the Fifth Floor, be warned. The last time Daley took applications, they were filled by political insiders. Rep. Deborah Graham was tapped to take over as 29th Ward Alderman and businessman Joe Moreno was hired as 1st Ward Alderman.
