SWF Seeks Family To Break Bread

By Chuck Sudo in News on Dec 1, 2010 6:30PM

There's an interesting story in today's Tribune about 41-year-old Tamar (née Rosalie) Garibay and the personal ad she placed in the Chicago Jewish News seeking a family. The Mother McAuley and UIC grad isn't looking for a man. She's simply looking to combat loneliness by joining a family at their Shabbat table.

The story goes into detail about Garibay's recent conversion to Judaism and her previous ill-fated attempts to reach out and make friends. Others interviewed for the story say Garibay would be a joy to break bread with. It's a beautiful read that makes for a timely feel-good story this holiday season. One that hopefully has a happy ending.
