Brady Refuses Hendon Apology

This morning Kevin posted video of Rickey Hendon shooting from the hip in explaining why he voted in favor of the civil union bill. This afternoon, we bring you the flip side of the coin of candidness.

Remember what Hendon said about Bill Brady during the gubernatorial campaign? Let's remind you.

"I've never served with such an idiotic, racist, sexist, homophobic person in my life. If you think that the minimum wage needs to be three dollars an hour, vote for Bill Brady. If you think that women have no rights whatsoever, except to have his children, vote for Bill Brady. If you think gay and lesbian people need to be locked up and shot in the head, vote for Bill Brady."

That's a bold statement. One that Brady's been gnawing at like Emmylou at butcher bones since Hendon said it. Yesterday Hendon tried to apologize to Brady for his statements, but Brady was having none of it.

“He just said I want to apologize, and I said, ‘Rickey, you know, you can’t apologize for that,’ ” Brady said. “That’s not something you apologize your way out of.”

We can see Brady's point. We say to Hendon: give it some time and take him to Soul Veg in a few months for a photo op.
