Rahm Emanuel has been pressing flesh and listening to people bitch about what's wrong with the city pretty much from the moment he came back to town to kick off his mayoral campaign. James Meeks is going to take the listening tour concept further.

Meeks said that, if elected, he would make top Chicago officials go into different neighborhood each week to field questions from frustrated residents.

"I plan on coming to neighborhoods on every Friday. I want to make sure people know where the mayor is," Meeks said at a campaign stop on what he's calling a "50 wards in 50 days" tour. "Why should everyone be forced to come to City Hall to conduct their city business?"

Wanna bet those city officials are happy Meeks doesn't really stand a chance of winning the election?
