Last Call For Prairie Fire Amateur Bartender Competition

Readers know there are a handful of cocktail enthusiasts here on the Chicagoist staff. But how would Rob, Anthony and Roger stand against other like-minded drinkers? For that matter, how would you?

Prairie Fire's Sarah Stegner and the folks at Share Our Strength kicked off an amateur mixology competition and there's still time to enter. Here are the details:

• Become a fan of Prairie Fire on Facebook.
• Take a picture of your cocktail that really shows off your drink.
• Submit that picture to the wall of Prairie Fire's Facebook page. Include with the post of your picture a brief description of the drink and the story behind it, the recipe, and your twitter handle.

You have until Friday to enter your cocktail. After that, two winners will be chosen by Stegner and Nacional 27's Adam Seger to compete against each other in a bartending showdown at Prairie Fire December 14, from 6-8 p.m. The contestant with the most tips raised will be declared the winner, and all tips will go to Share Our Strength. The two finalists will win dinner for four and have their cocktails paired with dishes specifically prepared for the evening by Stegner and George Bumbaris.
