Citing "a long mental health history and educational issues as well," DeKalb County public defender Regina Harris requested a psychological evaluation for William Curl, the man accused of murdering NIU student Antoinette "Toni" Keller in October.

Harris would not specify specific illnesses or hospital dates for Curl, and also said a forensic anthropologist is examining the remains believed to be Keller's, which were burned beyond a point where an autopsy wasn't reliable.
Meanwhile, prosecutors turned over crime notes, photos and surveillance footage of Curl they say are related to the case and are waiting for the results of DNA tests on shoes found at the crime scene to see if they can be tied to Curl.
