Drink In the Season! NYE at West Town Tavern

By Anthony Todd in Food on Dec 13, 2010 9:20PM

WestTownTavernLogo.jpg Starting today, we will start our countdown to the New Year by featuring one great holiday event or dinner every day. If you have any great New Year's Eve or holiday spots to recommend, let us know!

We aren't big New Year's Eve partiers. For us, New Year's Eve is a time for friends, family and reflection about what has happened over the last 365 days, not a crazy drunken party. Don't worry, we will have plenty of the best crazy drunken parties in town featured in these pages, but for today, let's stick to a quieter option. Intimate, low-key events are hard to find at this time of year, but West Town Tavern, our perennial favorite, comes through as usual.

WTT is hosting a New Year's Eve dinner. No cover charge, no pre-set meal, no minimum order - but you will need reservations. They put it better than we ever could: "No hype, no noise makers, no cheap sparkling wine at midnight; just excellent food and wine as well as great service." We're already sold. Their entire regular menu will be served, as well as some special dishes for the event, including a pan-seared east coast haddock with pears. Want to bring in the New Year right? Try the dark chocolate, cappuccino and marshmallow ice cream sandwich. After that, nothing can go wrong.

West Town Tavern is located at 1329 West Chicago Avenue.
