Shocking news from the state's capital city this afternoon as reports that Springfield Mayor Tim Davlin was found dead at his home of a gunshot wound.

Springfield Police Chief Robert Williams said the department received a 911 call about gunshots heard near Davlin's home. The shooting is under investigation.

It appears that Davlin was embroiled in an legal matter involving the estate of a cousin. Davlin could not provide accurate accounting documents for the estate of Margaret Ettelbrick and, when he didn't show up in court this morning related to the case, Davlin was removed as administrator.
