Drink in the Season! Dinner and Dancing at Avenues

By Anthony Todd in Food on Dec 16, 2010 9:20PM

Are you looking for a classic, upscale New Year's Eve party? Is your tuxedo gathering dust in the back of your closet? Look no further - the Peninsula hotel has got you covered. Whether you want to be in the midst of the music and the lights or you want a quiet intimate dinner for you and your sweetie, if you happen to have a spare $300 or so this is the New Year's party for you.

Actually, to be fair, it's $250. Or $325 with the wine pairings. For that price, you get dinner in The Lobby at the Peninsula, a five course meal which includes caviar, foie gras and veal, and live music and dancing. The champagne toast begins at 8.

If you want something a little quieter, you can have a 6-course dinner at Avenues for $275/guest. Avenues, which just got two Michelin stars, looks out over the Water Tower and is a great spot for a more subdued New Year's celebration. Take a look in the gallery for some of the treats you might get to taste. Chef Curtis Duffy will be hosting the party, and guests will get a chance to join the dancing and revelry after dinner.

The Peninsula is located at 108 E. Superior Street. Avenues is on the Lobby level. Both events are black tie.
