Hunker Down for Dinner at the Broadway Cellars

By Minna A in Food on Dec 22, 2010 8:00PM

Escape the winter snow storms by cozying up at the lodge-like Broadway Cellars. With dark green walls, tall lofted wooden columns and a fully stocked wine cellar and bar, Broadway Cellars is the kind of lodge we’d like to find ourselves in on a snowy dark night.

Broadway Cellars has been in the Edgewater neighborhood since 2006, offering hearty American dishes to pair with a wide variety of wines from California and across the world. On a particularly snowy night, Chicagoist hunkered down in a plush booth decorated with green garlands and cheerful wreaths ready for the hearty meal ahead of us.

Particularly noteworthy at Broadway Cellars is their Duck Lasagna. An unconventional combination of rosemary-infused duck sandwiched between heaping layers of cheese and pasta makes for quite an experience. Don’t plan on tackling a meal at Broadway Cellars alone, as portions are huge and wine pours are generous.

Join a group of friends at the lodge-like Broadway Cellars for one of their many craft beer nights, wine pairing dinners or generally any get together.

Broadway Cellars is located at 5900 N. Broadway, and open on Christamas Eve.
