Over at the Reader, Chic-a-go-go founder Jake Austen follows up on his stellar story from last year about the lost Jackson 5 recordings by again interviewing Larry Blasingaine about his history with the group.
Blasingaine believed he had played guitar on what he thought was the earliest Jackson 5 recording, a song called "Big Boy." Austen's research discovered that the version released did not have Blasingaine's guitar on it. But further research discovered the boys from Gary recorded the song twice in 1967 in two different studios.
Today, the Reader previews a clip of the version of "Big Boy" in which Blasingaine played guitar.
