Drink in the Season! Leopold Opening for New Year's Eve

Leopold10.jpg It's a real holiday miracle, at least for the owners and operators of Leopold, the new Belgian eatery we profiled earlier this week. We had been told, off the record, that they might be open in time for a party on New Year's Eve, but we refrained from mentioning it because the restaurant had not yet passed inspection and we didn't want a huge crowd of disappointed, torch-wielding restaurant goers to smash in their beautiful front window, all the while chanting "Give Us Frites!"

It's official - they have passed inspection and will be opening at 5 PM on New Year's Eve with a limited menu. The place will be BYO - which, we think, could be a unique New Year's opportunity to avoid over-priced booze and bring your own champagne. The restaurant will open for good on January 4.

Leopold is located at 1450 W. Chicago Avenue. Phone is 312-348-1028.
