Yesterday was the third time the Chicago Bulls and New York Knicks faced off in the Holiday Showcase Game at Madison Square Garden, and for the Bulls, this Christmas showdown wasn't so merry. Sporting their Christmas uniforms, the Knicks beat the Bulls for the second time this season, winning the series for the first time since 2000-01.
The Bulls struggled in their first Christmas game since 1997 and losing their second of their last 11 games in the 103-95 loss. Turnovers got the best of them as they committed 22 which led to 23 points, falling 9-6 on the holiday including 2-3 against the Knicks.
As expected, Carlos Boozer and Derrick Rose were at the top of the scoreboard with Boozer totaling 26 points, and 19 rebounds. Rose had 25 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds but also committed 7 turnovers.
Knicks' Amar'e Stoudemire and Raymond Felton each scored 20 points and the Knicks limited the Bulls to two baskets in the first ten minutes of the fourth quarter. Stoudemire also grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked 6 shots.
The Bulls will lace up again and look to rebound as they travel to Detroit tonight.
