Rhymefest Calls on His Own Clinton for Campaign Fundraiser

By Chuck Sudo in Arts & Entertainment on Dec 27, 2010 8:20PM

2010_12_27_gclinton.jpg Grammy Award-winning hip-hop artist and candidate for 20th Ward Alderman Che "Rhymefest" Smith is calling on some legends to help him raise the campaign cash he feels is necessary to unseat incumbent Willie Cochran. Case in point: a fundraising concert tomorrow night with the Atomic Dog himself, George Clinton.

Dr. Funkenstein is the featured attraction at tomorrow night's fundraiser at Lincoln Hall. But Smith is also bringing in the backing talents of Zzaje! (who have performed with Rhymefest before) and alternative band (is that still a term?) ST8 of Grace. Now this is an 18+ show at Lincoln Hall. Doors open at 7 tomorrow night, with the show slated to start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets ($75 $50 general admission or $150 $175 for VIP balcony tickets) are available at friendsofrhymefest.com or by calling 773-772-4414.
