Davis to Clinton: Don't Stump for Rahm

Congressman Danny Davis must be looking to burnish his credentials as the "consensus Black candidate" for mayor if he's warning Bill Clinton from campaigning for Rahm Emanuel
Davis warned that any campaigning by Clinton for Emanuel could "fracture" Clinton's relationship with Chicago's African American community. Davis said in a statement released to media:
"The African American community has enjoyed a long and fruitful relationship with the Clintons, however it appears as though some of that relationship maybe fractured and perhaps even broken should former President Clinton come to town and participate overtly in efforts to thwart the legitimate political aspirations of Chicago's Black community."
Davis is conveniently ignoring that Emanuel, by virtue of his having served as chief of staff for the nation's first Black President, is polling well with Chicago's African Americans, while Davis and Carol Moseley Braun posture behind antiquated racial politics.
