"One for the Road:" Little Mack Simmons

For some background music this morning we put in an album called "Funky Funky Chicago." This compilation of singles from 1968-1977 on various local labels has a few gems on it, including a song called "43rd Street Bus Stop," a song by Jimmy Mitchell and a harmonica player named Mack Simmons.

Simmons went on to greater fame as one of the premier blues harp players of his era before he dies a decade ago of colon cancer. We found a live performance from 1975 to share today.
