Guillen Scion Reacts Adversely to Jenks Comments

We love a good pissing contest as much as the next person. And when one starts from baseball players, even better. Baseball players who don't want to switch teams routinely rip their former organizations on the way out of town. Take former White Sox closer Bobby Jenks, who made late innings tense experiences for fans the past two seasons, had some choice words for Sox skipper Ozzie Guillen after he signed a two-year deal with the Boston Red Sox.
Jenks said that he was looking forward to a new start in Boston.
"I'll always respect (Guillen) as a person and give him credit that's due," Jenks said. "But I want to play for a manager who trusts his relievers, regardless of what's going on."He added: "Why would I come back to that negativity? I'm looking forward to playing for a manager who knows how to run a bullpen."
See? That's emotions getting in the way of business. It happens. Guillen himself even ripped the White Sox after he left as a player. Well, middle Guillen son Oney wasn't pleased with Jenks's comments and http://twitter.com/oneyroberto">took to his (now apparently defunct) Twitter feed to respond. As we found out this season with the Ozzie Guillen/Kenny Williams battle of wills, Oney Guillen and Twitter is like giving a three-year-old a loaded gun with a broken safety. What Oney Guillen revealed has been taken by some as over the line and (in exasperating WSCR afternoon host Dan Bernstein's opinion) a breach of clubhouse trust. A couple of the more choice nuggets:
- "hahah memo to bobby jenks get a clue u drink to much and u have had marital problems hugeee ones and the sox stood behind u"
- "they did not air out ur dirty laundry, u came to spring not drinking and then u (stunk) and started drinking again be a man about (it)"
Oney Guillen and Bernstein discussed the incident on the Score this afternoon, with Guillen insisting that he tweeted what he did because Jenks slagged his dad. Maybe Ozzie Guillen should take Oney aside and go Caspar in Miller's Crossing on him:
