Friday Morning Diversion: When Zenith Was King

We can lift today's televisions with two fingers, but do you remember the days when a color television was a major furniture purchase? For the years, Zenith was headquartered in suburban Lincolnshire and their television consoles proudly touted being made in Chicago.

In this video, a vintage television enthusiast takes us deep into the making of one of Zenith's tvs and gives us the bonus plan, some pretty clear video of a Channel 7 newscast from 1970, complete with a weather forecast written on a lazy susan. It becomes crystal in the end of the video that even 30 years ago, Frank Mathie got some BS assignments.
