Grab a pen and paper, crimestoppers. The Art Institute is doing some shuffling of its free admission days, away from the free weekday admissions through Feb. 4 they announced earlier this week.

Once the current free weekday promotion ends, free Thursday admissions start anew on Feb. 10, through May 26. Following that, the first two Wednesdays of each month are free, starting June 1. Art Institute public affairs director Erin Hogan said the changes are intended to give locals a better opportunity to enjoy the museum gratis and also cited opinions from some teachers who said Thursday evenings aren't the best time to visit the museum.

Finally, the Art Institute is cutting the free February program and closing at 5 p.m. on Fridays starting in March..
