The Self-Destruction of Carol Moseley Braun Continues

Carol Moseley Braun's missteps since she became the "consensus black candidate" for mayor have seemingly been steeped in self-inflicted tragedy. A couple of hours after we discovered that Braun may have overstated her business acumen, she literally phoned in a planned meet-and-greet with supporters at a downtown LGBT nightclub.
Braun was slated to meet with about 45 supporters at the Big Downtown Bar & Grill (440 N. State St.) at an event organized by Marc Loveless, a LGBT activist who, according to some, has been embroiled in his own fair share of controversy. Once it became clear that Braun was not showing, Loveless and other Braun supporters spoke on behalf of her, touting her long championing of LGBT issues.
Around 7:15 p.m., Braun called in to thank her supporters, her remarks reportedly barely audible through a microphone held up to Loveless's cell phone.
At the rate Braun's going, maybe we should start laying odds as to whether she participates in the Tribune/City Club of Chicago Mayoral debate on the 27th.
