Woman Calls 911 to Force Boyfriend to Propose

2011_1_5_shotgun_wedding.jpg A woman on the Northwest Side was charged with disorderly conduct after calling 911 in the hopes that police would unwittingly act as the heavies in a shotgun wedding.

40-year-old Ana Perez allegedly dialed 911 around 8:30 p.m. Sunday and reported that her boyfriend was attacking her. When police from the Grand Central district arrived at Perez's home, she recanted the report and said that she wanted the police to persuade her boyfriend to marry her. The cops, recognizing this did not fall within the guidelines of their oath to serve and protect the public, were not amused.

Perez's boyfriend said that he was actually in the process of breaking up with her. Don't know why he wouldn't want to put a ring on it. From the reports, she seems like a keeper.
