Food and music have a surprising, but deep connection. The spiritual nourishment of the latter can help inform the literal, life-sustaining nourishment of the former. (Listen to this episode of Sound Opinions with Anthony Bourdain if you don't believe us). For a group of Chicago-based punk rockers, including Eric Spicer of Naked Raygun and Herb Rosen of Rights of the Accused, food and music are combining for another fulfilling enterprise: Charity.

According to A.V. Club Chicago, members of both bands, along with members of Stiff Little Fingers and the Methadones are collaborating with chef James Toland to make a new EP, which will be pressed on a 45. The EP will be released at the opening of Toland's latest restaurant, West Loop's The Black Sheep, in March, with all proceeds going to Chicago Children’s Memorial Hospital.

Additionally, Toland is using all-local talent to construct the actual building itself. Read more details, including quotes, over at the A.V. Club.
