Morning Box Score: Bulls Pump Pistons

By Chuck Sudo in News on Jan 11, 2011 3:30PM

Bulls 95, Pistons 82: After a horrendous first half on both sides of the court, the Bulls came out with a sense of urgency after halftime. Trailing 55-43, the Bulls clamped down defensively, holding the Pistons to 27 points in the second half.

Derrick Rose led all scorers with 29 points and seven assists, with Carlos Boozer adding 27 points and 11 rebounds and Luol Deng 17 points and eight boards for the Bulls. But the play everyone was talking about after the game was a classic alley oop between Rose and Ronnie Brewer at the beginning of the fourth quarter. This is yet another addition to Stacey King's "Derrick, Don't Do 'Em Like That" moments. Look at how Rose instructs Brewer to lob the ball and the moment of hang time Rose has before slamming home the jam. The Bulls haven't had a guard be able to play above the rim like this since... you know.

Damn.
