According to the city, it's been a good year for filling potholes. That is, the number of reported potholes last month decreased over the same time frame in 2009.

Last month, crews filled 21,392 potholes, compared to 26,054 potholes in December 2009. City officials credit the decline to more street-resurfacing projects (a benefit of the stimulus plan) and a decrease in freeze/thaw cycles. They also stressed that pothole patching crews are working as hard as ever, lest we get the wrong impression, apparently.
