Take Some Photos, Win Some Prizes from the Green City Market

This weekend is the first Green City Market of 2011. Schwing! To kick things off, GCM is holding a food photo contest for all of you Chicago foodies out there, and the prizes are pretty sweet, in our humble opinion. The contest is “Farm to Table,” and the idea is to show the raw ingredients you buy at the market and how you transform them into your dinner. You should take pictures at the market, while cooking, and of the finished product.
Let us know if you’re headed out to the GCM this Saturday… we’ll be there.
The winner will receive a GCM membership, a membership to the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, and a seasonal basket filled with treats from the Market. Rad. Get out there, foodies and photogs. Win us some swag.
How to Enter the Contest:
Using a sequence of 5-10 pictures, taken at the market on January 15 and posted to either Facebook or Twitter, share the progression of your food from the Market to your table.
On Facebook
To post pictures to Facebook, create an album and tag Green City Market ("like" the Green City Market page, and use "@Green City Market in your album). Make sure the album privacy setting includes "Everyone", so GCM doesn't miss your submission.
On Twitter
To post pictures to Twitter, post each picture with a Twitter picture service (TwitPic, Flickr, YFrog, etc.) and make sure to use the hashtag #gcmcontest. Number these pictures (e.g., 1 of 7, or 1/7).
You must include pictures of what you buy at the market and from whom, the preparation of your dish as well as the final presentation.
Entries are due by February 1st. Not long after that, GCM will choose a winner.
The Green City Market is this Saturday, January 15, from 8:00am-1:00pm. It is held indoors at the South Gallery of the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. Free parking is available at the Diversey Harbor Parking lot across from the Museum on N. Cannon Dr.
Public Transportation to the Market at the Museum: You can take the following CTA bus routes to Green City Market: 22 Clark, 36 Broadway, 76 Diversey, 151 Sheridan, 156 LaSalle. The closest train stop is the Fullerton Brown, Purple, and Red line (walk east on Fullerton to the Museum).
