Today is the federal observance of Dr. Martin Luther King's birthday. The Civil Rights icon would have been 82 last Saturday.
We wanted to honor his birthday in some way today and spent a few hours last night reacquainting ourselves with some of Dr. King's speeches. We also had a deeper read of Art Shay's remembrances covering both Dr. King's time in Chicago and his assassination from last week, which we highly recommend you check out, it you missed it.
We thought King's last speech, from April 3, 1968, would be a solid way to start the tribute.
