2011_1_20_richard_lyons.jpg Prosecutors laid out the case against Richard Lyons in the 2008 murder of his daughter, Mya. And they're pretty damn graphic. Richard Lyons is accused of striking his daughter in the head with a lockbox, stabbing her 30 times, then driving to a hospital and claiming the Mya Lyons "may have been bitten by a dog."

Investigators also contend the the blood spatter in the van and Richard Lyons' clothing indicate that Mya Lyons was killed in the van, Ar charge that Lyons' attorney Alan Blumenthal argued was "junk science." In forensic evidence that may not be junk science, the lockbox contains abrasions that mirror abrasions on Mya Lyons' body. the stab wounds were on Mya Lyons' stomach, neck and upper back; she had multiple fractures to her skull; and she was asphyxiated.

Richard Lyons is being held without bond in his daughter's murder. He's also being held on a separate $250,000 bond for allegedly assaulting a 15-year-old boy in his home last June. The boy had his hair cut by Lyons' wife. Lyons then touched him and asked if he could "stay the night."
