Fox Rejects 'Jesus Hates Obama' Ad

According to the site’s creator, a Super Bowl ad for JesusHatesObama.com has been rejected by Fox.The 30-second ad depicts bobble-head versions of President Obama and Jesus scowling at the president as he falls into a fishbowl. Surprise surprise.
Did they really think that was going to fly? The company admits that it doesn’t really hate Obama and the site’s creator, Richard Belfry insisted that he was merely trying to make fun of the Obama Administration and sell merchandise.
Fox knows to lay low and keep it safe, as the Super Bowl has experienced controversial commercials in the past; the last being an anti-abortion commercial by conservative Christian group Focus on the Family last year.
However, something tells me this may not have been a serious request as it doesn’t seem that the site could afford a $2.3 million commercial. Belfry told the New York Daily News that the money would have come from private investors (which is still kind of sketchy) and that he was shocked by Fox’s decision saying, “They don’t realize it’s a joke.”
People can order anti-Obama merchandise such as t-shirts and hats, but the header of the homepage reads, “Do we really believe that Jesus hates Obama? Of course not! However, we do believe in freedom... as in the freedom to make fun of the Obama administration with novelty t-shirts... our products may be a joke but so are the policies of this administration."
