Morning Box Score: Blackhawks Limp Into All-Star Break

Wild 4, Blackhawks 2: Last year at the All-Star break the Blackhawks were cruising to a 100-point season with an eye on a Stanley Cup championship. This year, they're struggling to keep pace in a loaded Western Conference. Last night's 4-2 loss to Minnesota didn't help matters any. If the playoffs were to start today, the Hawks would be the bottom seed facing the conference-leading Vancouver Canucks.
Corey Crawford, despite giving up four goals last night, was serviceable in goal. The Blackhawks simply lack the firepower and depth to fight back from large deficits like last night. The Blackhawks are now off until next Tuesday with the All-Star break beginning.
